Services

Mountain Lake & Pond Management, Inc. offers over 50 years combined experience in lake and pond management. We specialize in using the most environmentally sound practices for managing undesirable aquatic vegetation, and only E.P.A. registered aquatic herbicides.

By monitoring water quality, keeping accurate records, and stocking sterile triploid grass carp, we incorporate biological control while minimizing the use of chemicals.

Our Services Include:

Aquatic  & Terrestrial Weed Control
Our licensed applicators are certified with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, and strive to utilize the latest application technology.

Lake and Pond Aeration

Our lake and pond management services promote healthy aquatic ecosystems with the use of microporous airstone manifolds placed on the bottom of lakes and ponds with water depth of 6 feet or greater.  In water depths less than 6 feet, aeration is provided b the use of floating fountains. Both systems promote healthy fish communities and improve water quality by adding more dissolved oxygen.

Hemlock and Woolly Adelgids (HWA) The woolly adelgids are tiny insects that are dispersed by the wind. The aphid -like critters literally sucks the sap (nutrients) out of the needles of the hemlock trees. In approximately three to five years the trees die if not treated.

We are certified specialists in the treatment of hemlocks, and have recently attended local conferences and workshops concerning the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). This pest can be identified by the white cottony secretions on the branches of hemlock trees.  The safest and most economical treatment is annual inspection, and if necessary, tree and/or soil injection to eliminate the pest and prevent reproduction and spreading.
